How YPSA Works

Start With the Pathway, Then Find the Right Way to Learn

Every subject conversation begins at the home school. From there, YPSA works through a clear six-step process to find an option that supports the student's goals and learning needs.

  1. 1

    Pathway Planning and Subject Counselling

Students backwards-map from post-school goals, beginning with the Stage 2 and Stage 1 subjects that support their pathway.

  2. 2

    Home School Offerings

The first option is learning available on site, where student numbers, expertise and local support are considered.

  3. 3

    YPSA Collaboration

If a subject cannot run at the home school, the seven schools explore how shared expertise and student numbers can make it possible.

  4. 4

    Rural Alliance Collaboration

YPSA can explore opportunities with other rural alliances across South Australia to broaden access beyond the peninsula.

  5. 5

    Open Access College

Open Access College options are considered when a subject is not available through the home school or YPSA.

  6. 6

    Alternative Subject Offerings

When another delivery option is unavailable or unsuitable, aligned alternatives at the home school or across YPSA are considered.

Student Voice

Built Around Connection, Confidence and Choice

Students describe the alliance in their own words: new confidence, practical skills, familiar faces and a clearer view of what comes next.

Local Delivery allowed me to study Psychology and learn how to work online with other schools. Now when we meet at events, there are always familiar faces.
